IBO Player Activation Explained: MAC Address, Device Key & What to Send
What IBO Player activation is, why it's linked to your device's MAC address, how it differs from your IPTV subscription and exactly what to send after you buy.
Quick answer
IBO Player activation is a licence for the player app on one device, linked to the MAC address shown on its start screen. It is separate from an IPTV subscription and includes no content. After buying, send us the MAC address — only characters 0–9 and A–F — by WhatsApp, Telegram or e-mail. Activation cannot be moved to another device.

IBO Player is free to download, but after any trial period the app asks for activation to keep working. This guide explains what activation is, how it works and how to get it done without mistakes.
Activation vs IPTV subscription
These are two separate things:
| IBO Player activation | IPTV subscription | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A licence to use the player app on one device | Access to a streaming service |
| What you get | A working player | Channels and on-demand content |
| Linked to | Your device's MAC address | Your login details |
| Included in the other? | No | No |
You need both to watch: the subscription supplies content, the player displays it. Our IPTV plans don't include IBO Player activation, and activation doesn't include any content.
Why is it linked to a MAC address?
A MAC address is a hardware identifier for your device's network connection. IBO Player shows a MAC address on its start screen and uses it to recognise your device. Activation is therefore per device: if you use IBO Player on two TVs, each needs its own activation.
The Device Key
Alongside the MAC address, the app shows a Device Key. Together they let you manage playlists for your device on the developer's website. Keep both private.
How activation works on our site
- Install IBO Player on your device (setup guide).
- Note the MAC address shown on the start screen.
- Purchase IBO Player activation. Checkout happens on our payment partner's website.
- Send us your MAC address using one of these:
- WhatsApp or Telegram, together with the e-mail you used at checkout, or
- e-mail, with a photo of the app's start screen.
- We activate the MAC address after your payment is verified and confirm when it's done.
- Restart the app.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Confusing similar characters.
0(zero) vsO,1vsI,8vsB. MAC addresses only contain 0–9 and A–F, so there's never anOorI. - Sending the Device Key instead of the MAC. We need the MAC address (six pairs separated by colons).
- Sending another device's MAC. Activation can't be moved to a different device afterwards — double-check which TV you're activating.
- Posting your MAC publicly. Only send it to us directly.
Can the MAC address change?
On some devices the displayed MAC differs between Wi-Fi and Ethernet, or changes after a factory reset. If IBO Player shows a different MAC to the one you activated, contact us with a photo of the start screen and we'll help.
