IBO Player on Samsung TV: Install & Setup (Tizen OS)
How to install and set up IBO Player on a Samsung Smart TV running Tizen OS, including finding the app, activation, adding a playlist and Samsung-specific fixes.
Quick answer
On a Samsung Smart TV, open Apps, search for IBO Player and install it. Tizen OS models from 2017 onwards are recommended. Note the MAC address shown in the app, arrange activation, add your M3U or Xtream Codes playlist and restart. If the app is missing, update the TV firmware, check the region setting, or use a Fire TV Stick instead.

Samsung Smart TVs run Tizen OS and have their own app store. On most models from recent years you can install IBO Player directly, without a streaming stick.
Requirements
- Samsung Smart TV with Tizen OS — 2017 models or newer recommended.
- A Samsung account signed in on the TV (needed for the app store).
- Internet connection; Ethernet is best for live sport.
Install IBO Player on Samsung
- Press Home on the remote and go to Apps.
- Select the magnifying glass (search) in the top-right corner.
- Type IBO Player and select it from the results.
- Choose Install. When it's finished, choose Open — or Add to Home to pin it to your home row.
Activate and add your playlist
- Open IBO Player and note the MAC address and Device Key on the start screen.
- Purchase activation and send us the MAC address.
- Add your playlist (M3U or Xtream Codes) as explained in the main IBO Player setup guide.
- Restart the app to load your channels.
Samsung settings that improve playback
- Auto Update apps: Settings → Support → Software Update (and in Apps settings) keeps the player current.
- Picture Mode: use Movie or Filmmaker Mode for natural colours; Standard for bright rooms.
- Picture Clarity / Auto Motion Plus: set to Off or Custom with low values if motion looks artificial.
- Network: Settings → General → Network → Network Status lets you test the connection. Prefer the 5 GHz Wi-Fi network or a cable.
Samsung-specific troubleshooting
The app isn't in the store
- Update the TV: Settings → Support → Software Update → Update Now.
- Check the TV's region/location settings; some apps are region-restricted.
- Older (pre-2017) Samsung models may not support newer apps. A Fire TV Stick is an inexpensive alternative.
The app was working and suddenly closes
- Unplug the TV for 60 seconds (a full power cycle clears memory).
- Uninstall and reinstall the app: Apps → Settings (gear) → select IBO Player → Delete. Your MAC address stays the same.
Picture freezes but sound continues
- Switch the player engine in IBO Player's settings.
- Check that HDMI-CEC (Anynet+) isn't switching inputs if you also use a soundbar or other device.
Smart Hub reset
- As a last resort: Settings → Support → Device Care → Self Diagnosis → Reset Smart Hub. This removes apps and signs you out — reinstall IBO Player afterwards.
