How to Set Up IBO Player: Complete Step-by-Step Guide
Install IBO Player, find your MAC address and Device Key, activate the app and add your IPTV playlist (M3U or Xtream Codes) — with fixes for common setup problems.
Quick answer
To set up IBO Player: install it from your TV's app store, note the MAC address and Device Key on its start screen, arrange activation for that MAC address, add your playlist (M3U link or Xtream Codes server, username and password), then restart the app. IBO Player is software only — it plays your provider's playlist and includes no channels.

IBO Player is a media-player app that turns your IPTV playlist into a polished TV interface. This guide takes you from installation to your first channel. It works for Samsung, LG, Android TV and other supported devices; for device-specific details, see the linked guides.
Remember: IBO Player is software only. It doesn't include any channels or content — you add a playlist from a compatible IPTV service. Activation of the player and your IPTV subscription are separate products.
Before you start
You'll need:
- A supported device: Samsung Smart TV (Tizen), LG Smart TV (webOS), Android TV / Google TV, or another device where the app is listed.
- A stable internet connection — Ethernet if possible.
- Your playlist details from your IPTV provider: an M3U link, or an Xtream Codes server URL, username and password.
Step 1: Install IBO Player
- Open your device's app store:
- Samsung: Apps
- LG: LG Content Store (or Apps)
- Android TV / Google TV: Google Play Store
- Search for IBO Player.
- Select Install, then Open.
Can't find it? Store listings vary by region and model. See the troubleshooting section below, or the guides for Samsung and LG.
Step 2: Note your MAC address and Device Key
When IBO Player opens, the start screen shows two codes:
- MAC address — six pairs of characters, e.g.
00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E. - Device Key — a numeric code.
Write both down exactly. Take a photo of the screen if that's easier. Keep these private; anyone with them could manage your device's playlists.
Step 3: Activate the player
IBO Player requires activation for each device after any trial period. Activation is linked to your MAC address.
- Purchase activation (on our site: IBO Player activation).
- Send us your MAC address by WhatsApp, Telegram or e-mail.
- We confirm when activation is complete.
Read IBO Player activation explained for details.
Step 4: Add your playlist
Playlists are usually added through the IBO Player developer's website, where you log in with your MAC address and Device Key:
- On a phone or computer, open the official IBO Player website and choose the device login / "Manage playlists" option.
- Enter your MAC address and Device Key.
- Choose Add playlist:
- For M3U: give it a name and paste your M3U URL.
- For Xtream Codes: enter the server URL, username and password.
- Save.
Some versions of the app also let you add a playlist directly on the TV under Settings → Playlists or Change playlist.
Step 5: Restart and load channels
Close IBO Player fully and open it again. The app downloads your channel list, on-demand categories and guide data. The first load can take a minute on large playlists.
Step 6: Personalise your settings
Open Settings to:
- Choose the video player engine if a channel stutters (try alternatives one at a time).
- Set a parental control PIN and lock adult categories.
- Adjust subtitle size and language.
- Hide categories you never use to keep lists tidy.
- Set the time format and guide time offset if programme times look shifted.
